Architectural Designer

Job Summary

 

Our firm is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Architectural Designer, to work on a wide range of residential single-family, multi-family and mixed-use projects. This person will work directly with the Principal, assisting with conceptual design, assemble quality presentation drawings, and prepare construction drawings.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Produce concepts, layouts, renderings and sketches that reflect the brief, for the design architect and project stakeholders.
  • Work with the client to develop design solutions to be considered for approval or improvement.
  • Gather necessary information to perform dimensional and routine calculations for drawings and design layouts.
  • Ensure that all layouts and technical drawings meet the required building codes and standards.
  • Prepare floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and other CAD drawings from existing documents, and/or field measurements & photos.
  • Prepare site plans based on survey of the property, documenting details and applying MEP(mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and sprinkler) information.
  • Conduct occasional on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans, and refine the technical drawing based on comments from the design architect, project manager and clients.

 

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.
  • 6+ years of architectural drafting and design experience.
  • Highly attentive to details, accuracy and visual aesthetic.
  • Knowledge of New Jersey State Code & Zoning Regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to establish and maintain effectiveworking relationships with colleagues, contractors and consultants.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects at a time while keeping up tight schedules.
  • Work independently to firm’s CAD standards.
  • Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD. Proficiency with REVIT and SketchUp is a Plus.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Software.

Architectural Drafter

Job Summary

 

Our firm is looking for a detail-oriented Architectural Drafter to work on a wide range of residential single-family, multi-family and mixed-use projects. This person will work directly with the Principal, assisting with conceptual design, prepare construction drawings and assemble quality presentation drawings.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare technical drawings, renderings and sketches for the design architect and project stakeholders.
  • Prepare site plans based on survey of the property, documenting details and applying basic MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and sprinkler) information.
  • Conduct occasional on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans, and refine the technical drawing based on comments from the design architect, project manager, and clients.
  • Read blueprints and develop working drawings from concepts, under limited supervision
  • Draw building elevations and transform them into representation drawings.


Job Qualifications

MINIMUM:

  • Associate degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD drafting.
  • At least 3+ years of experience with Advanced AutoCAD Skills.
  • Highly attentive to details, accuracy and visual aesthetic.
  • Good communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, contractors and consultants.
  • Work independently to firm’s CAD standards.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software.
  • Provide resume and work samples in PDF format.

 

PREFERRED:

  • Degree or Certificate in Architecture, Drafting.
  • 5+ years work experience.
  • Knowledge of New Jersey State Code & Zoning Regulations.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Working Skills with Sketch Up and Revit.
